CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
5 eggs
1 cup chocolate syrup
3 cups self-rising flour

Preheat oven to 325. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Beat in syrup. Stir in flour. Spoon batter into a greased 10 inch tube pan. Bake for 1 hour and 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 15 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack.
