BRAISED ONION SLICES WITH BOURBON

Category: Sides

2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp olive oil
4 Bermuda onion, sliced 1 inch thick
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup beef broth, canned or homemade
1/4 cup bourbon

Heat butter and oil. Add onions and sear on high for 2 minutes. Add salt, pepper and broth. Reduce heat and simmer 10 to 12 minutes. Add bourbon and cook down for 3 minutes. Goes well with Prime Rib and pork. Serves 4
