GOLDEN WHITE-CHUNK NUTTY BARS

2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, diced
1 cup packed dark brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup shredded coconut
2 tsp vanilla extract
10 oz white chocolate, coarsely chopped
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans

Preheat to 300. Grease a 13x9 inch baking pan. In bowl, combine flour, soda, and salt. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in the eggs, coconut, and vanilla, then blend slowly until smooth. Add flour mixture, chopped chocolate, and pecans. Scrape dough into pan. Level and smooth the surface. Bake 40-45 minutes or until center is set and top is golden. Place pan on wire rack to cool to room temp. Cut into bars.
