CHERRY PINEAPPLE CAKE

2 (16 oz) cans pitted red cherries, drained
1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple in syrup, undrained
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
1 pkg white cake mix
1/2 cup butter, melted
Whipped topping

Spread cherries and pineapple with syrup over bottom of an ungreased 13x9 inch baking pan. Top with nuts. Sprinkle dry cake mix over all. Pour butter evenly over cake. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Cool. Invert on a serving place. Cut into squares and top with whipped topping.
