HOBO BREAD

2 cups raisins
1 1/2 cups boiling water
4 tsp EACH baking soda and softened butter
1/2 cup EACH sugar and brown sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp EACH salt and vanilla
1 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
4 cups flour

Pour boiling water over raisins; let cool. Stir in soda and other ingredients. Fill 6 greased and floured clean, large soup cans half full. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes to one hour. Cool and remove from cans.
