20 large mushrooms
1/2 pkg (0.7 oz size) dry Italian salad dressing mix (about 2 1/4 tbsp)
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1 tbsp butter
1/2 lb ground pork sausage
Preheat oven to 350. Clean mushrooms and remove stems. Reserve mushroom caps; chop stems into small pieces and set aside. Stir dressing mix into cream cheese in a large bowl; set aside. Melt shortening in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushroom stems and saute until soft and lightly browned. Remove to bowl with seasoned cream cheese and stir to combine. Set aside.
Return same skillet to medium-high heat. Add sausage and cook, stirring to break up sausage, until no longer pink. Drain well; add sausage to bowl with mushrooms. Toss to combine. Stuff mushroom caps with mixture. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve hot.
