SWISS ASPARAGUS QUICHE

1/2 lb asparagus
1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
3/4 cup half and half
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (I didn't have any so left it out!)
2 green onions, sliced
3 eggs, whipped
1 glove garlic, minced
1/8 tsp nutmeg
Dash of salt and pepper
9-inch pie crust (optional, I omitted it)

Trim ends of asparagus and cut into 1 inch slices. Steam for 2-5 minutes until tender-crisp.

In a large bowl combine asparagus, cheese, bacon, onion, eggs, garlic, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Pour into pie crust or greased pie pan.

Bake at 400 for 30 minutes, or until center has set and top is turning golden brown. Let set for at least 10 minutes before serving.
