HAZELNUT CREAM CHEESE BROWNIES

Cream cheese filling
4 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup finely ground hazelnuts
Brownie
6 oz chocolate chips
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup flour
2 tbsp cocoa
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cu sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup hazelnuts, roasted and coarsely chopped
Filling: Mix together cream cheese and sugar. Beat in remaining ingredients. Refrigerate while preparing brownie batter.
Brownie: Melt chips and butter; set aside. Sift together dry ingredients; set aside. In a bowl beat sugar, eggs and vanilla until smooth and lemon colored, about 2 minutes. Beat in melted chocolate. Add dry ingredients and beat until well blended. Fold in chopped nuts. Spread one-half of batter into a greased square baking pan. Pour cream cheese filling over layer. Gently spread remaining brownie batter over the cream cheese layer. Pull through the batter for marbleized effect. Bake at 350 for approximately 40 minutes. Do not over bake. Cool and serve plain, dusted with powdered sugar.
