1/4 cup oil
1 tsp garlic, minced
2 medium onions, finely chopped
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
1/4 cup vinegar
1 tsp salt, basil and thyme
1/4 cup honey
1/2 cup beef stock
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp dry mustard
4 lb spareribs
Heat the oil in a skillet. Add the garlic and onions, stirring frequently until the onions are brown, about 3-4 minutes. Combine the paste and vinegar, and then add it to the skillet. Stir in the next 7 ingredients. Mix thoroughly and simmer uncovered over low heat for 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat.
Preheat oven to 400. Place the ribs fat side up on a rack set in a shallow roasting pan and brush thoroughly coat the surface of the meat with the sauce. Bake for 45 to 1 hour, basing thoroughly with sauce every 10 minutes.
