BUTTER COOKIES

1 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp almond extract
2 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 egg

Cream butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add in sugar and continue to cream until fluffy. Beat in egg and extract. Gradually add flour. Cover and chill dough until firm. Preheat oven to 350. Roll dough out on a floured surface to 1/4 - 1/8 inch thickness and cut with cookie cutters or stamps. Bake for 8-12 minutes.
