LEMON TEA BREAD

Bread
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp finely shredded lemon peel
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Glaze
1/4 cup sugar
3 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp finely shredded lemon peel
Orange Cream Cheese
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tbsp orange juice
1 tsp finely shredded orange peel
Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour bottom and halfway up sides of a loaf pan; set aside. In a large mixing bowl, combine butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and lemon peel. Beat mixture well. Sift together flour and baking soda and add to sugar mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Stir in nuts. Spread batter in loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes.
Glaze: Combine ingredients and spoon over hot bread. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove bread from pan and cool completely on wire rack.
Orange Cream Cheese: Cream together ingredients until well blended. Serve with bread.
