DANISH BUNDT CAKE

3 cups cake flour sifted three times before measuring
2 tsp baking powder
dash of salt
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup powdered sugar (plus more for dusting baked cake)
4 eggs yolks, room temperature
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond extract
1 cup milk, room temperature
2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Butter (for greasing Bundt pan)
Whole almonds
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
Cream butter; sift in both sugars after mixing them, stirring well. Add unbeaten egg yolks, one at a time, and beat until smooth (not too long). Add flavorings and mix. Add the flour mixture alternately with the milk. When mixed, add stiffly-beaten whites of eggs.
Grease a Bundt pan well with butter. Put large dabs of butter along ridges in mold and embed an almond in each dab. Pour batter into pan.
Bake for 1 1/4 hours at 350 degrees F. Let stand for fifteen minutes before removing from pan. Then turn it out carefully and gently. Dust with powdered sugar.
