BOHEMIAN FRUIT SQUARES

2 1/2 sticks butter, divided
1 1/2 cup sugar
4 eggs, separated
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cup flour
1 can any flavor pie filling

Cream butter and butter; add sugar and beat well. Add egg yolks and vanilla, mixing well. Blend in flour.

In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into flour mixture. Grease and flour a 13x9 inch baking pan. Spread 3/4 dough across the bottom of pan.

Spread pie filling across entire dough. Dot with remaining dough, here and there, over the filling. Bake at 350 for 50 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before cutting into squares.
