SOUTHWEST SAUSAGE BREAD

1 loaf from a 1 lb pkg frozen bread dough, thawed
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1/4 lb dry chorizo* or pepperoni sausage, chopped
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Cook onion and sausage in skillet over medium heat 5 minutes or until onion is tender. Drain on paper towels.

Spray loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray. Roll dough into 24x11-inch rectangle. Sprinkle sausage mixture and cheese over dough. Roll up dough jelly-roll style from short end. Pinch seam and ends to seal. Cut dough lengthwise into halves. With cut sides up, twist halves together. Pinch ends to seal. Place in pan, cut sides up. Let rise 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Preheat oven to 375. Bake 30 minutes or until loaf sounds hollow when tapped. Remove immediately from pan. Cool 30 minutes on wire rack.
