ORIENTAL MARINATED CHICKEN WINGS

12 chicken wings, dejointed and tips removed
1/4 cup soy sauce and dry sherry
1 tbsp sugar and honey
2 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp ground ginger, onion powder and 5 spice powder
1/3 cup flour
Oil for deep frying

Place wings into a resealable bag. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over wings. Marinate for several hours, turning occasionally. Drain; reserve marinade.

Add enough water to reserved marinade to make 2/3 cup liquid; stir in flour. Beat until smooth.

Heat 2 inches oil in wok or deep fryer to 375. Dip chicken into flour mixture and fry one-third at a time until golden. Drain on paper towels.
