SOUR CREAM STREUSEL BARS

1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
3 eggs, room temperature
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda and baking powder
1 cup sour cream
Topping
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
2 cups walnuts, finely chopped
4 tbsp butter, chopped
Preheat oven to 325. Line bottom of a 9 inch square baking pan with waxed paper and grease paper.
Topping: Place brown sugar, cinnamon and walnuts in a bowl. Mix with finger tops. Add butter; continue working until mixture is crumbly. Cream butter until soft. Add sugar; continue beating until mixture is light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
In another bowl, combine dry ingredients and sift 3 times. Fold into butter mixture into 3 batch alternating with sour cream. Fold until blended after each addition. Pour half the batter into prepared pan; sprinkle over half of topping. Pour remaining batter on top; sprinkle over remaining topping. Bake 60-70 minutes or until browned. Allow to stand for 5 minutes; then unmold and transfer to a wire rack to cool before cutting into bars.
