SOUTHWEST STEW

2 lbs ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 (14 oz) can tomatoes, diced
1 (15 oz) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
1 (17 oz) can whole corn, drained
4 potatoes, cubed
1 cup picante sauce
2 cups water
1 tsp ground cumin
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Shredded sharp cheddar cheese, for garnish

Cook beef and onion; drain. In a Dutch oven, combine ingredients except cheese. Simmer, covered, for 45 minutes or cook in a crock pot on LOW all day. Serve with cheese on top. Serves 4
