HAMBURGER CASEROLE

8 oz egg noodles, cooked al dente, drained
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 cup chopped onions
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 tbsp shortening
1 tbsp sugar
1 beef bouillon cube
1 (16 oz) can tomatoes
1 (10 1/2 oz) can tomato puree
Salt and pepper, to taste
Croutons

Cook ground beef and onions in shortening. Drain and stir in remaining ingredients except croutons. Pour into a greased casserole dish and top with croutons. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 1 hour.
