*LAYERED CHOCOLATE BARS*

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, room temperature
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 tsp almond extract
Topping
3 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp baking power
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter
2 eggs
1/2 tsp almond extract
Preheat oven to 375. Grease a 13x9 inch baking pan. In a saucepan, combine first 3 ingredients; cook over low heat, stirring constantly until chips melt and mixture is blended. Remove form heat and stir in nuts and extract. Set aside.
Stir together crust ingredients until is resembles a coarse crumb mixture. Press half the mixture into the pan; spread with chocolate mixture and sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture. Bake 35-40 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely on wire rack before cutting into bars.
