1/2 cup butter and flour
Small onion, chopped
1/2 tsp garlic powder and pepper
1 1/2 cups light cream or milk
1 (10 1/2 oz) can chicken broth
1 tbsp prepared mustard
3 cups cooked wild rice
1 (4 oz) can mushroom stems and pieces, drained
12 thin slices fully cooked ham
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Parsley

While making rice, saute onions in butter until transparent in a saucepan. Add flour and seasonings and stir until smooth and bubbly. Gradually stir in cream, small amounts at a time. Stir until smooth. Add broth and mustard. Cook until thickened and place a thin layer in the bottom of a 13x9 inch baking pan and reserving some over topping.

To the remaining sauce, add rice and mushrooms. Spoon onto each ham slice and roll up. Place seam side down onto sauce in pan. Top with reserved sauce. Bake, uncovered, for 25-30 minutes at 350 until heated through. Top with cheese and cook an additional 5 minutes.
