STRAWBERRY PRETZEL SALAD

Crust
1 cup crushed pretzels
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter, melted

Filling
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, room temperature
1 medium contained frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 cup sugar

Topping
1 (6 oz) box strawberry (or raspberry) gelatin
1 (10 oz) box of frozen sliced strawberries (or raspberries) in syrup
2 cups boiling water

Crust: Mix well and press into a 13x9 " baking dish. Bake at 400 for 8 minutes. All to cool completely before proceeding with remainder of recipe.

Filling: Whip together the cream cheese and sugar until very smooth. Fold in whipped topping. Spread on top of cooled crust. Refrigerate while preparing next layer.

Topping: Dissolve the gelatin in boiling water. Add the frozen strawberries (water will melt them and the frozen strawberries will start the gelling process). Let stand for 10 minutes. Pour the mixture onto the cream cheese layer. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
