APPLE CAKE WITH CARAMEL SAUCE

2 tbsp oil
1 large egg
1 pkg nut quick bread mix
3 cups apple pie filling, chopped fine
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 cup chopped walnuts

Caramel sauce
1 cup white and brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup whipping cream

Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 13x9 inch baking pan; set aside. In a large bowl, whisk together the cake ingredients. Pour into prepared baking pan and bake for 35 minutes. Serve with sauce.

Sauce: In a saucepan, combine ingredients and bring to a boil until it becomes a light caramel color.
