CHOCOLATE AMARETTO CREAM BROWNIES

Cream Cheese Batter
3 oz softened cream cheese
2 tbsp softened butter
2 tbsp sugar
1 large egg, slightly beaten
1 tbsp flour
1 tbsp Amaretto liqueur
Dash of salt

In small bowl, mix together softened cream cheese and butter. Add sugar and beat until creamy. Mix in the beaten egg and Amaretto. Add flour and salt and mix until smooth. Set aside.

Chocolate Batter
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup crushed amaretti cookies
1/3 cup flour
1/8 tsp salt

Melt chocolate and butter in medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and add sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract. Add the remaining ingredients and stir just until mixed. Assemble: Grease a 9inch square pan. Pour half of chocolate batter into pan. Top with cream cheese batter and end with remaining chocolate batter. With knife, marble the batters by running the knife through them. Bake at 325 for 35 to 40 minutes (do not over bake).

Icing
2 squares semi-sweet chocolate
1 tbsp butter
3/4 cup confectioners sugar
Dash of salt
1 tbsp Amaretto liqueur
1 tbsp milk

Melt semisweet chocolate and butter in small saucepan over low heat. Add Amaretto and milk and warm slightly. Stir in confectioners sugar and salt. Ice brownies while warm. Serve completely cooled. Cut into squares.
