Sauce:
2 (28 oz) cans tomatoes (crushed or whole)
1 (12 oz) can tomato paste
1 cup water
1 tsp minced garlic
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 1/2 tsp dried sweet basil
1/2 tsp salt and black pepper
3 whole bay leaves

Place all ingredients in an uncovered Dutch oven, heat to a boil and then immediately reduce heat to a simmer and simmer for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

Meatballs
2 lbs lean hamburger
2 tsp salt
1 tsp EACH pepper, garlic powder and oregano
1/2 tsp sweet basil
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups soft bread crumbs
2 eggs, slightly beaten

Mix together until well blended. Form into meatballs and place on jellyroll pan. Bake at 350 for one-half hour. Once the spaghetti sauce starts to simmer, add meatballs.
