AMERICAN BARBECUE SAUCE

1/4 cup butter
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 cup brown sugar
Salt, pepper, chopped onions, minced garlic (optional)

Melt butter in saucepan. Add other ingredients and bring to boil. Makes about 2 cups
