POTATO HERB BAKE

6 tbsp butter, melted and divided
1/2 tsp salt
6 tbsp chopped onion, divided
1/4 tsp dried basil and thyme leaves
2 lbs potatoes, peeled and sliced very thin, divided
1/4 tsp pepper
Preheat oven to 425. In a bowl, combine seasonings. Place 2 tbsp butter in a skillet. Arrange 1/3 of the potatoes in a circular patter in skillet. Sprinkle about 1/4 tsp seasonings, 4 tbsp melted butter and 2 tbsp onion. Repeat layers twice. Cover tightly with foil; press layers down. Bake for 20 minutes.
Uncover, bake 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Remove from oven; press layers with a spatula. Let stand 10 minutes. Invert onto a serving platter to unmold potatoes. Remove from skillet and cut into wedges. Serves 6-8
