BAKED PORK CHOPS WITH CABBAGE

4 pork chops, 3/4 - 1 inch thick and trimmed of fat
1 tbsp vegetable oil and butter
1/4 cup diced onion
1 can cream of celery soup
1/2 cup milk
3 medium potatoes, diced
1 lb cabbage, shredded
1/4 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
Pepper, to taste
Season the chops with salt and pepper; fry in a skillet with the butter and oil until brown. Remove from pan and set aside. Mix together next 3 ingredients to the pan. Starting with the potatoes, put alternate layers of potatoes and cabbage into a 2-quart casserole; sprinkle layers with flour, pour soup mixture over each layer. Place chops on top; cover and bake for 1 1/4 hours at 350. Serves 4
