PHILLY FRUIT DIP

1 (8-oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 c. sour cream
3 T. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Combine cream cheese, sour cream, sugar and vanilla in a mixing bowl and beat until smooth and creamy. Transfer to a covered container and chill for a minimum of 1 hour before serving. Serve with a tray of assorted fresh fruit cut in bite-size pieces for dipping. Yields 2 cups or 16 (2-tablespoon) servings.

Variations:
Almond Fruit Dip - Add 3 tablespoons of finely chopped almonds and 2 teaspoons of almond liqueur to the basic recipe. Garnish with 1 tablespoon of finely chopped almonds, if desired.

Lemon Fruit Dip - Add zest of 1 lemon, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and 1 additional tablespoon of sugar to the basic recipe.
