BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES

1 (12 oz) pkg butterscotch bits
1/2 cup butter
4 eggs
1 cup light brown sugar
1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
1 1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
2 cups chopped nuts, pecan, walnuts or mixed

Melt butterscotch with butter over hot (not boiling) water. Remove from heat. Beat eggs with sugar in large bowl until light and fluffy. Sift dry ingredients and beat until blended. Add melted butterscotch, and then stir in nuts. Pour into a lightly greased jelly-roll pan. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
