BANANA SPLIT DESSERT I

2 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup butter, melted
8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cup confectioners sugar
4 bananas, cut crosswise into 1/4 inch slices
1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple, drained
1 (8 oz) carton frozen whipped topping, thawed
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans
1 (10 oz) jar red Maraschino cherries, drained

Mix graham cracker crumbs and melted margarine together and pat in bottom of 13x9 inch baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes at 350; remove from oven and cool completely.

Combine softened cream cheese, vanilla and confectioners sugar. Beat until pudding-like and spread over crumbs; place sliced bananas on top. Spoon on drained pineapple and top with whipped topping. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and dot with cherries. Refrigerate for 4 hours before serving.
