MEXICAN MARINADE

1 pkg chili seasoning or taco seasoning mix
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce or 1/4 cup salsa
2 tbsp chopped cilantro
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp garlic salt or 1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 tsp cumin
2 tbsp lemon juice or lime juice
1/2 cup water

Combine ingredients. Use to marinade 3 lb chicken pieces in the refrigerator 2-3 hours, turning occasionally. Reserve the marinade and place in a saucepan. Cook to boiling. Use as a baste.
