2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup butter
1 1/3 cups packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups uncooked oats, quick or old fashioned
11 oz pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 tbsp butter
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 350. Mix flour and baking soda. Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and 1 tsp vanilla extract. Mix in dry mixture and oats. Set aside 1 1/3 cups mixture. Press remainder into bottom of a greased 13x9 inch baking pan.
Melt 1 cup chocolate chips with the milk and 1 tbsp butter, stirring until smooth. Stir in remaining vanilla extract and 3/4 cup nuts. Spread over oat layer. Dot with remaining oat mixture. Sprinkle with remaining nuts and chips. Bake for 40 minutes. Cool before cutting into bars.
