LINGUINI ROMANO

18 oz linguini, cooked al dente, drained
2 tbsp butter
1 cup chopped ham or prosciutto
3 cups thinly sliced mushrooms
1 1/2 cups light cream
1 (10 oz) pkg frozen peas, thawed
1/2 cup grated Romano or parmesan cheese

While pasta is cooking, melt butter in a large skillet. Add ham and mushrooms; cook 3-5 minutes or until tender. Add light cream. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cook 6 minutes or until liquid is reduced by half. Add peas. Toss with hot pasta and cheese. Serve with additional cheese. Serves 6
