WHISKEY DESSERT SAUCE

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup half-and-half
2 tbsp whiskey

Combine first 3 ingredients in a saucepan; cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. Add whiskey. Serve over bread pudding or cake.
