CHICKEN AND VEGETABLE PASTA

1 lb dry penne pasta, cooked al dente
1 cup fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2 inch pieces and broccoli pieces
1/2 cup butter
2 cups half-and-half
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
3 clove garlic, minced
Dash ground pepper
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
3 chicken breasts, cooked and chopped

After pasta is cooked, do not drain but add vegetables, stir and cover; let stand 6 minutes.

In a saucepan, melt butter and add cheese, garlic and pepper. Cook until thickened. Stir in chicken. Drain pasta and vegetables and toss with sauce. Serves 6-8
