PEACHES AND CREAM FRENCH TOAST

Use a heavy textured bread

Custard
2 (15 oz) cans sliced peaches, drain liquid and puree in blender or 6-8 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced, then pureed
1 tsp cinnamon and nutmeg
8 eggs
3 tbsp B & B or amaretto
1 cup half-and-half

Blend custard ingredients together in a blender. Using a large cookie sheet with sides, pour the sauce on the bottom of the cookie sheet. Coat the bread slices on both sides of mixture and keep on cookie sheet. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Heat a griddle and lightly rub surface with oil. Cook French toast on each side for 5-6 minutes. Alternate sides of the toast every 2 minutes to keep it from browning to mush. Serve warm with maple syrup and garnish with peach slices.
