MUSHROOM PASTA PILAF

1 small onion, chopped
1/4 cup butter
1 1/3 cups uncooked small shaped paste, any type
1 (10 1/2 oz) can beef consomme, undiluted
1 cup water
1 (7 oz) can mushroom stems and pieces, undrained
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp soy sauce
Dash pepper

In a skillet, saute onion in butter until tender. Add remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until pasta is tender and liquid is absorbed. Serves 6-8
