CHOCOLATE CHUNK BUTTER PECAN BARS

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 3/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 to 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 13x9 inch baking pan. In a bowl, combine the first 4 ingredients. Blend in flour and salt. Press mixture onto the bottom of the prepared dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes until lightly browned. Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate. Let stand until the chocolate is soft and spread evenly over the crust. Sprinkle pecans over top and let cool.
