1 3/4 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3 oz unsweetened chocolate
1 1/4 cups milk
1 tsp vanilla
Favorite frosting
Melt chocolate in top of double boiler; cool slightly. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; set aside. Cream butter, sugar, and eggs. Add melted chocolate to creamed mixture, then alternately add flour mixture and milk. Add vanilla.
Pour into two greased and floured 8-inch round cake pans. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
