BANANAS IN CREAM AND HAZELNUT LIQUEUR

2 tbsp butter
2 bananas, cut in medium slices
1/4 cup Frangelico (hazelnut liqueur)
2 tbsp heavy cream-filled chocolate sandwich cookies
1/4 cup hazelnuts, chopped
4 sprigs fresh mint and whipped cream, garnishes
Ice cream and/or pound cake
Melt butter in a small pan over medium heat. Cook banana slices in the melted butter for about 30 seconds; then, with heat turned off, add liqueur, being aware that a flame may result. Return the pan to the heat and cook for 30 seconds. Add the cream, cook for 1 minute longer, and remove from heat. Sprinkle with nuts and garnish with whipped cream and mint before serving warm, or refrigerate for about 5 minutes, until the sauce is the consistency of caramel, and serve over ice cream and/or pound cake. Serves 2
