STRAWBERRY TREAT

1 lb butter, softened
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 quart strawberries, hulled and quartered
1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
3 egg whites, beaten until stiff
1 (12 oz) box vanilla wafers, crushed

Cream butter and sugar. Fold in berries, nuts and beaten egg whites. Line a 13x9 inch baking pan with wafer crumbs.

Spoon on a layer of half the berry mixture, add another one-third crumbs, the remaining berry mixture and last third of crumbs. Chill several hours or overnight.

To serve, cut into squares, Serves 15-18
