CHOCOLATE CHIP BUTTERSCOTCH BARS

2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup butter, softened
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 300. Grease a 9 inch square baking pan. Combine flour and baking soda and set aside.

In a bold blend the sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, beating until light and fluffy. Scraping down sides, then add flour mixture, pecans and chocolate chips. Beat on low speed just until combined. Do not over mix.

Transfer the batter into prepared pan, leveling top with spatula. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.. Cool on rack to room temperature before cutting into bars.
