BARBECUED MEAT STICKS

2 lbs thinly sliced beef
1/2 cup soy sauce
5 tbsp packed brown sugar
1/2 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp ginger powder
1 tbsp oil
3 dozen bamboo skewers, soaked in water

Slice meat into 1 inch strips, about 6 inches long. Blend remaining ingredients and marinate the meat in the sauce at least 20 minutes. Skewer meat on skewers. Cook over hot coals to desired doneness.
