WHIPPED BUTTERNUT SQUASH TOPPED WITH SUGARED PECANS

5 medium butternut squash
4 tbsp butter
1/4 cup maple syrup
Salt, white pepper and nutmeg
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 cups chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350. Cut squash in half, scoop out seeds and bake for 35 minutes or until soft. While squash are still hot, scoop pulp out of skins and place in a bowl. Discard skins. Add butter and maple syrup; blend until smooth. Add seasonings, and mix well. Place mixture in a buttered casserole dish.

Ion another bowl, mix together remaining ingredients and sprinkle on top of squash. Bake for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve. Serves 4-6
