BACON AND CHEESE BISCUITS

2 cups flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp Salt and pepper, to taste
1/3 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
4-5 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
1/3 cup chopped green onions
1 cup milk
Preheat oven to 425. Combine dry ingredients and cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in next 3 ingredients. Add milk all at once to dry ingredients, stirring with a fork to make a soft dough.
Turn dough out on floured surface and knead 8 to 10 times, until comes together in a ball. Pat dough into an 8 inch square and cut in half. Cut each half into 6 equal rectangles. Place on ungreased baking sheet about 1 inch apart. Bake at 425 for 12-15 minutes or until light golden. Serve warm.
