TEXAS COWBOY HASH

1 lb ground beef
2 (15 oz) cans tomatoes, do NOT drain (chunks)
1 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup uncooked rice
1/2 tsp salt (seasoning salt preferred)
1/2 tsp ground pepper
1/2 lb cheese, grated or sliced.
1 tsp freshly chopped jalapeno pepper or 1 tsp crushed peppers (optional)
1 clove garlic (optional)

Brown beef in a skillet. Add all ingredients except the cheese. Cover and simmer 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Top with cheese and heat until cheese melts. Serve by itself (or on buns if you like). Serves 4.
