Remove from heat and cool. Pour sugar syrup into 2 quart glass jar. Add desired fruit and 1 750 ml bottle vodka; stir gently. Cover the jar with a tight fitting lid or cork and let steep in a cool place for recommended times for each fruit. After steeping, using a wire strainer, strain liquid through several layers of cheese cloth or coffee filters into a large bowl. Using a funnel, transfer liquid to a bottle and seal and store at room temperature.
