MEXICAN MEATBALLS

Meatballs
1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup white cornmeal
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 clove garlic, minced
1 small onion, minced
1/2 tsp dried oregano, crumbled
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Sauce
1 tbsp butter
1 small onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp dried oregano, crumbled
3 cups tomato juice
Salt, to taste

Meatballs: Combine ingredients and shape into small balls.

Sauce: Melt butter and cook onions until lightly browned. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Drop meatballs boiling sauce; cover and simmer about 10 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked. Serves 4
