POLYNESIAN GLAZE

2/3 cup maple syrup
1 cup water
1 1/2 tbsp grated fresh ginger
4 clove garlic, minced
2 1/4 tsp prepared horseradish
1/2 tsp salt
Pepper, to taste

Combine ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil; reduce heat to a simmer. Cook until reduced by half, about 15 minutes. (Can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated for several days.)

NOTE: Good basted over grilled pork or salmon, basting often just until golden and well-glazed.
