NEVER-FAIL-FUDGE

2 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 tsp Salt and pepper, to taste
1/4 cup butter
1 (5.33 oz) can evaporated milk
1 (7 1/2 oz) jar marshmallow creme
3/4 tsp vanilla extract
1 (12 oz) pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Grease a 9 inch square baking pan. In a large saucepan, combine first 5 ingredients. Stir over low heat until blended. Heat-full-rolling boil; boil slowly, stirring constantly for 5 minutes. Remove form heat; stir in vanilla extract and chocolate chips until chocolate is melted. Add nuts. Turn onto greased pan and cool completely before cutting.
